I was born and raised in Connecticut and have loved drawing cartoons and writing poems that rhyme ever since I was a child. My favorite pastime was drawing cartoons from the TV, movies, and comic strips, particularly Fred Flintstone, Aladdin, and Garfield, so it is not surprising that, as an adult, I’m writing and illustrating children’s books. What is surprising to me is that I didn’t expect the motivation to create my characters and stories to come from a health issue that is a worldwide growing concern.
Just a few short years ago, I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance. I was experiencing several symptoms that were quite challenging, and I often felt discouraged. I was overwhelmed by the thought of how difficult it must be for a child to deal with these symptoms since I was struggling with them as an adult.
With the staggering number of people being newly diagnosed every day with gluten intolerance, which oftentimes is accompanied by multiple food allergies, this health topic is hard to ignore. The goal of my books is to help children make the best choices when it comes to what they eat.
Whether or not a child has gluten intolerance, *celiac disease, or multiple food allergies, my colorful children’s books, Gluten-Free Ghouls and Gluten-Free Ghouls and The Bullying Bats, will help all children to understand what they, or their friends, are going through.
These books are only the beginning of what is to come, so be sure to add glutenfreeghouls.com to your list of favorites.
Thank you so much for visiting my website. If you have purchased my books or plan to, I truly hope that they bring you and your loved ones as much joy and happiness that they brought me while I was creating them.
Wishing you happy reading and gluten-free eating!
*Celiac disease is a serious genetic autoimmune disorder where the ingestion of gluten
leads to damage in the small intestine.
